Allyson Girouard, LCSW
About me
I support clients struggling with stress, low self-worth, childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, life transitions, and relationship complications by creating insight and strategic interventions to improve quality of life by changing perspectives and thought processes. I believe in a strengths-based, solution-focused approach to energize and motivate clients while incorporating evidence-based practice methods to achieve changes that are client-focused and driven. I participate in live chat, phone, and video sessions.
I also offer couples counseling and have helped many couples achieve better communication, understanding and mutual respect in couples therapy sessions.
Additionally, I specialize in Grief and Loss including Traumatic Grief, child loss of any age, and losses of any kind, such as divorce, loss of home, finances, loss of previous self, previous functionality, job, and other losses.
Treatment includes implementing evidenced-based modalities such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Psychodynamic therapy, Existential Therapy, Narrative therapy, and Radical Acceptance Theory. My philosophy includes incorporating a holistic approach that encourages self-love and compassion, while striving for balance and empowerment, by offering clients empathetic and compassionate support.
